Craft Project For Borderline Hoarders

As I’m getting older, I’m finding it easier to let go of the past, especially when it comes to stuff. Every now and then though, I come across something I just can’t get rid of. For example, a t-shirt I bought in 1988 (the 8th grade), and even though nothing significant happened while I was wearing it, I just couldn’t throw it away. It spent about 20 years in a box at my parents house, until they cleaned out their storage space. Then, my old junk was relocated to our house where I realized very little of it was actually worth keeping.

Most of it ended up in our donation bin, but I held this one old t-shirt. I’d loved it so much back then. I just couldn’t let it go.

I was never going to actually wear it again, so I turned it into decor.

The rectangle shaped pillow was made from the front of the shirt and the back is the smaller square. The backs are made from navy blue corduroy.

Long live my favourite t-shirt!

I love this idea! What a creative way to save things that remind you of your childhood, etc. and re-purpose into your life now. So cute 🙂

Oh this is a great idea! D has some he can’t part with but can’t fit into anymore. I should do something like this with them! What a cute tee though!
