There’s a small patio along the west side of our backyard. It’s shaded by a canopy of honeysuckle bushes and it’s remained vacant and unused since we’ve lived here. I’ve just been at a loss as to what to do with the space.
Earlier this spring, I finally decided that a bistro set was the way to go here, and I’ve been half-heartedly shopping for patio furniture for the last month. Last week, I happened to be at Ikea, and I saw this one in the as is section. I love the Ikea as is section this time of year. There’s lots of furniture and linens from last year’s displays as they get ready for the new catalogue. It’s a bargain hunter’s dream come true.
This wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. I’d initially wanted something with more of a retro look. However, this one cost only a fraction of some of the other sets I’d seen so far. When really I considered how much time and money I wanted to put into it, buying this one just made sense.
I really like it though. It finally looks inviting under there. Another scorching summer has been predicted, so I think we’ll find this patio quite a relief over the next few months.
