Merry Christmas!

Gifts have been opened, turkey has been consumed, and we’re at now home relaxing, with two more days off to look forward too. We’ve been so busy lately, I feel like I really need at least a day of flaking out on the couch.

While we were getting ready to celebrate, I took a few random photos:

This year, I did a brown paper packages, wrapped up with string theme.

I think every city has one of these houses. This is ours.

The cats are not very helpful with Christmas preparations.

I love Christmas, and this year was one of the better ones. Still, I’m looking forward to the new year, and returning to our usual routines. I’m also looking forward getting back to a healthier diet – less wine and chocolate and more veggies and water. Although, the holiday fun is over yet. We still have boxing week shopping and New Year’s Eve to go!

  1. Love the brown packages! I recently saw an article about how people in a study were happier with simple wrapping. It lowers expectations so that the gift seems more special, as opposed to a really extravagantly wrapped smaller gift that gets someone’s hopes up. Makes sense!

Glad you had a nice Christmas and have some time to relax!

Hope 2012 is your best year yet! Happy New Year!

  2. Thanks!

The theory about simpler wrapping does make sense, although I do like a sparkly wrapped gift sometimes.

I hope you have a wonderful 2012 as well!
