Things I Bought This Week

The theme of this week’s shopping post is delayed gratification.

I saw the Lululemon running skirt three years ago. I could never bring myself to buy it though. I have a personal rule about paying full price for anything. I don’t do it – especially for active wear. So, for three years, I’ve been waiting patiently for it to go on sale (and available in my size), but to no avail.

Over the past few months, I’ve been very committed to fitness. I’ve been going to yoga classes regularly, playing tennis, riding my bike, inline skating and walking whenever I can. As a reward to myself, I finally ordered it.

Then, while I had my credit card handy…

My watch battery died ages ago, so I stopped wearing it. Since I always have my phone with me, I’ve found I really don’t need one. That left me with an unadorned wrist, so I’ve been looking for some bracelets. My very favourite jewellery site, Foxy Originals having a sale, so I ordered this one in silver.

Sadly, don’t have either of these items in my possession yet. I really hope they’re not being sent though Canada Post!

Meanwhile, I brought these sandals home from the mall tonight.

They’re not really my usual style but there was just something about them. They’re Fossil – one of my favourite brands for bags. I’ve never bought their shoes before, but they seem comfortable and well constructed. I can’t wait to hit the streets in these.

  1. I’ve heard so many great things about Lululemon. They just opened a store in my town so all the freaks around here who are into fitness (I kid) are going nuts.

Yeah, it feels so weird wearing a watch. The bf bought me one when we started dating and I wore it for a year but I’m over it.

    Love those sandals!

  2. Lululemon has really nice stuff and the quality is usually pretty good too. It’s very pricey though and I’m always reluctant to spend a lot of money on clothes that I’m going be be sweating profusely and/or crawling around on the floor in.

I’m actually angry with the sandals now – I wore them to a festival and Saturday afternoon and they gave me terrible blisters on my toes. Hopefully they just need breaking in…
