Things I Bought This Week

There’s been a lot going on in the world over the past few weeks. The royal wedding! Osama swims with the fishes! The Canadian federal election! In all the excitement, I didn’t get around to my weekly shopping confessional last week, so here’s two weeks of purchases.

The past few weeks have been all about black and grey dresses:

This one is from RW & Co.

The following week I picked up this linen-like H&M dress from a thrift store. Everything in the store was 50% off that day, so it ended up costing me $4.

At the same time, I bought a black jersey dress. I didn’t take a picture because it’s being laundered for the second time since the initial purchase. It’s so comfortable, I’ve already worn it 3 times. I think it’s going to be my go-to dress this spring.

Then, back at the same thrift store as last week, I found this wool Banana Republic dress.

It’s similar to the one I bought last week but actually like it much more than the one from RW and Co. I’ll probably return the first one.

Along with the dresses, I also bought a pair of court shoes from a Foot Locker outlet. I needed them for the tennis lessons I started this week. The shoes were 75% off and the store not only had my regular shoe size, but they also had them with a wider width for my Fred Flintstone feet! My baby toes couldn’t be happier.

  2. There are 3 thrift stores on my route home from work, so I have a weekly rotation. There’s one store though, that always seems to have the best dresses.

  3. You are a super star thrift store shopper! I love the black & white dress. Are you willing to share the name of the thrift store? Pretty please?

  4. Ok, but if I notice a significant decrease in my dress selection, I might have to take action.

It’s the Goodwill at New Street and Walkers Line.
