Scattered Pictures of the Smiles We’ve Left Behind…

I’ve been cleaning up pictures on my hard drive. It’s a mess. When it comes to photos, my desktop labeling and filing system is deplorable. I’ve got hundreds of unlabeled folders, full of pictures from vacations, weddings and parties, long forgotten, just floating around willy nilly in my computer. It’s going to be a big job, but I’m determined to get them all sorted.

In the meantime, I’d like to share some random pictures that weren’t blog worthy or never made it to my Flickr page. From an artistic and technical perspective, they’re not my best work, but they do bring back fond memories. Isn’t that the point of photography anyway?

This isn’t the best sunset picture I’ve ever taken, but it stood out to me because it was date stamped December 2006. This is where I was four years ago today! I’m not entirely sure exactly where this was taken but if I had to guess, I’d say it was Solana Beach, California. This is why it’s so important to label your pictures.

I took this one last summer in Niagara Falls. I snapped a few pictures on my way back to my car after watching my friend, Christine finish the Ride to Conquer Cancer. The photo itself wasn’t quite what I was trying to achieve but I love how this pigeon couple looks like they’re chatting with each other as they sit on the escarpment.

It’s embarrassing how many pictures I’ve taken of our cats.

What’s even more embarrassing is how many pictures I’ve taken of other people’s pets. Some of them belong to complete strangers. Like this one:

Wheelie-Dog! I’d almost forgotten about this picture. It was taken at Baker Beach in San Francisco a few years ago. Don’t feel too bad for Wheelie-Dog. He seemed unfettered by his apparatus and was booking it across the beach with his doggie friends. .

Other pictures are of dogs we know.

A few times a year we take care of my friend’s dog, Jenny. She’s an extra large dog and stands perfectly at bed level, so this big snout is usually up in my grill when I wake up. I adore her. Her only crime is shedding. She sheds like a mo-fo. Otherwise she’s a lot of fun to have around.

This is just the beginning. I still have at least a thousand pictures to go though.
